A couple older reviews of the Sevylor Fiji are full of baloney. The false rumor about no boat valves almost scared me away from the deal of the year. This inflatable Kayak is equipped with two full size standard boat valves, one for each large side tube. The bottom of the boat is engineered like a 2-3" thick sleeping cushion used by campers, just like Tahiti and that part uses an oversize mouth valve that takes about 15 seconds to fill with a electric pump. Other valves on the boat are conventional biggie pool toy size for blowing up tiny individual sections like removeable seats and these surely do no have boat valves on the Tahiti, that's for sure.
In my opinion, the Fiji and tahiti are the same exact boat except for the free paddle and Barney purple color. Tahiti is baby bop yellow, big deal.
Anyway, the boat works as advertized and folds up nice for storage. The paddle is adequate, but you might want to buy Sevylors larger $16 kayak paddle for the second occupant. This kayak will carry an adult and 100lb teenager with ease, but I'm not so sure about 2 adults. I think you'd take on water. I use it in about 5 miles of slow and medium water that is occasionally less than 4" deep and it worked perfect with 1 adult and 1 teen weighing 300lbs total.

It is NOT comparable to the Tahiti. This kayak DOES NOT HAVE BOSTON VALVES. It has 9 separate small valves which take a long time to fill with a high volume pump (because the valves are small compared to the Boston valves on the Tahiti.) Deflating is equally time consuming.
Some valve locations are more difficult to access. This isn't the boat I want for getting on the water conveniently. I am going back to the fast filling Tahiti and sending this boat back.

While there are those who will deride this product as an "air matress with sides" it is really a lot of versitile fun for the dollar. It gets you on the water cheaply and efficiently. It packs down small. I've had mine for the past three years, and have taken it on all sorts of water, from calm ponds to pretty big waves in rivers with fairly strong current. I've never had a problem. It holds me and my now 6 year old daughter perfectly. It replaced my old canoe and it has the following advantages:
1) the bag fits easily in the trunk of my compact sedan
2) I don't have to worry about the boat flying off the top of my car on the freeway
3) the bag fits easily in the trunk of my compact sedan.
It is seaworthy - I have even taken it out on Lake Superior (on a very calm day) and on day paddles into the Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness. I love it.
