4 out of 5 stars Sizing is key to the fit of this cap   July 17, 2008

I have a larger head than average with thick curly shoulder length hair to boot- something I hadn't thought about much until I tried to buy swim caps. I don't fit in the one size fits all caps but i fit in this one! Hurray! All the other ones- Speedos (even the one made for long hair & the new super water dynamic one that comes in a size large), Swimclub, et al- they either strangle my head in a vice & roll up my head causing lots of water exposure. Not so with the large size for this cap.

This Amazon link for the sizing chart just tells you to go to "Recreation Supply Company for detailed product or sizing information." I did that and it doesn't tell you the sizing there either. Neither does Water Gear's website- gee whiz- how are you supposed to know what size you are? Well, I found this one website that tells you more than you can imagine about swim caps:

http://www.geocities.com/lapswimr/sc.html

If you scroll down to their bit on "Chin Strap Swim Caps", they actually tell you the head circumferences that correspond to each size. Normally I wouldn't put all this info into a review but I figure someone else may have the same trouble finding a cap that fits & if you are that person, maybe this will save you some hours of fruitless searching.

Anyway, my 1st cap died after months of regular use (I wasn't very diligent about fresh water rinsing) & after trying a bunch of other caps, I'm going to buy another 2 or 3 of these. Good luck to y'all &

"Just keep swimming!"

This cap does not do anything to keep water out. It does not matter if the chin strap is on or not. I would not purchase again.
