Does not fit Asian bone structure August 27, 2010 Youme (San Francisco, CA) Someone recommended this goggle to me and I was excited. I swim almost everyday so the increased price is not a factor. However when I tried it on, it didn't seal around my nose because I'm Asian (Chinese) and have a different bone structure. Thus that goggle was pretty much useless to me. I'm back to my Water Gear goggles which so far is the most comfortable kind I've found.
Wish Barracuda makes these goggles with an Asian fit like other brands of goggles I've bought.
Love these goggles!! July 20, 2010 Big Brusher (Los Angeles, CA.) I love these googles!! Have been using them to swim laps for years. They're really comfortable and don't leave you with big uncomfortable circles under your eyes. They also don't dig into your eye sockets like the cheaper ones do since the foam padding around the eye frame is super soft and strong. Best part is when the foam and straps need replacing you can send them into the company and for $16 they'll replace the straps and foam. I do that about every 6 months or so. Depends on how much you swim of course. So it's like you have new goggles with little turn around time. I have two pairs of these goggles so when one is in for repair I have another. Only caviat I have found is that the plastic clip joint where the strap fits in to the main frame eventually snaps after about a year and I have to epoxy the pieces together. Goggles are still great though, no interference visually while swimming and much cheaper than buying a new pair of goggles. Now some people don't like Baracuda goggles. Differences in facial structure make goggles feel different for different people. Different strokes for different folks! But I love them. The best I've found. Of course take good care of these goggles by rinsing them in clear water each time you swim, dry them well, then place them on the base structure form they ship with to keep their shape and you'll have them for many years. Good luck all you swimmers out there!
Sharky's Review February 26, 2010 Sharky (OH USA) Excellent fitting goggles for workouts...These leave your face without rings, even after an hour swim.
most comfortable goggles ever! February 8, 2010 Alan Mushnick (Voorhees, NJ USA) These goggles are the most comfortable you will ever try. They do not depend on suction. They are molded to fit on the bone around the eyeball and they don't press on your eyeballs. They are a one of a kind item. These are the only goggles that ever worked for me without leaking or causing eyeball pain.
While they are a little more expensive than the usual ones, they will last a long time. In addition, you can send them back to Barracuda and for few dollars they will refurbish them so they are like new. Well worth it. I have two pair. I am never going to miss a swim.
I could not swim without these great goggles.
not so nice October 29, 2009 Lobstah (Boston) 4 out of 4 found this review helpful
Having used barracuda's for many years before switching to goggles with silicone, I was expecting a welcome return of an old friend. Initally, it was hard to get them tight enough to keep water out. But that seemed to improve once they got wet and cranked down again. I used them in a triathlon and liked the visibility. But now the anti-fogging is going and they are more of a probelm than not. I'm back to the silicone ones which are less expensive.
