fantastic protection June 16, 2008 Blue Lizard was the sun protection my dermotologist wanted me to use. I used to be able to buy it at the grocery store, but have been unable to find it this year. Was overjoyed to find it on Amazon. Blue Lizard is one of the only over the counter sun screens that you can buy which contains at least 3% zinc (the only true sun blocker). It goes on easily and evenly and doesn't run when you sweat. My entire family uses it.
Blue Lizard SPORT suncream is different than Blue Lizard BABY suncream April 26, 2008 As another reviewer pointed out, the SPORT suncream does not contain Titanium Dioxide! Here are the active ingredients for the SPORT suncream: Octinoxate (7.5%), Octocrylene (2%), Oxybenzone (3%), Zinc Oxide (6%). If you want both Titanium Dioxide and Zinc Oxide, you need to buy the BABY suncream of the same brand, here are its ingredients: Titanium Dioxide (5%), Zinc Oxide (10%). I prefer the Baby version b/c it does not contain chemicals, and the oxides are not absorbed into the skin. Further, there is some evidence that the chemical Oxybenzone may itself damage skin and cells.
Blue Lizard Sun Screen Lotion November 11, 2007 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I have just begun to use this sun screen at the advice of my dermotologist. He recommended this particular product because it protects against all of the different harmful rays from the sun. He said that most off-the-counter sun screens only protect from some of them, but Blue Lizard protects from 100% of the rays due to its ingredients of titanium and zinc oxide. He uses it himself, and he said that all of the dermatologists at his medical facility also use it. He told me that it's hard to find, but I could order it easily and economically from Amazon.com. He told me that he gets no "kick-back" from his recommendation, and that he is just informing me that this is the best product on the market as it has been thoroughly tested and discussed in medical journals. I hope this helps someone who is considering the purchase of a sun screen.
GREAT PRODUCT July 15, 2007 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
I have been using this for about five years. I would not be with out it. It protects my skin from the Sun and is a nice cream that keeps my skind souf. I have recommened this to many of my friends and family.
PAY ATTENTION TO LABEL - **NO** TITANIUM DIOXIDE June 2, 2007 7 out of 9 found this review helpful
We wanted a sunscreen with both Zinc Oxide and Titanium Dioxide.
The Amazon Product Features section says it contains 10% and 5%, respectively.
HOWEVER - THE PRODUCT LABEL LISTS ONLY 5% ZINC OXIDE AND __ZERO__ TITANIUM DIOXIDE.
Do not be misled by Amazon's sloppy advertising. It looks like a sloppy copy/paste job when setting up all the Blue Lizard pages.
Only the Blue Lizard BABY formulas have both for full spectrum protection. If this is for your infant, as it was for ours, pay attention! Make sure you get what you think you're getting.
